When a fear becomes reality

Marsha Wetzel, 68, moved into a senior living facility in Illinois in 2014 after her partner of 30 years died. According to a lawsuit, the abuse began soon thereafter. Wetzel claims other residents called her names and that some physically assaulted her. “I don’t feel safe in my own home,” Wetzel said. “I am scared constantly. . . . What I am doing is about getting justice. I don’t want other LGBT seniors to go through what I’ve gone through.”
